Christopher Kirk is the assistant city manager for the City of Tehachapi. Mr. Kirk joined the City of Tehachapi April 2007 as the executive assistant to the city manager. During that time, he initiated a number of significant changes, including the modernization of the city’s website and the development of an electronic records management system.

After serving in that capacity for two years, Mr. Kirk became the city’s capital projects manager while retaining his responsibilities of managing the city’s general administration staff.

As the city’s C.P.M., Mr. Kirk directed the design and construction of approximately $8 million in public improvements, including the completion of the Historic Train Depot and the creation of Centennial Plaza.

As the assistant city manager, Mr. Kirk continues to manage engineering and capital projects as well as the management and oversight of the Public Works Department, Utilities Department, and general administration staff. He has also initiated and completed a number of other significant projects, including the development of a community-wide branding initiative to increase tourism and improve economic development efforts.

Mr. Kirk has a B.A. in government and political science from the University of Texas at Austin and a master in public administration from California State University in Bakersfield.
