Tehachapi City Manager Greg Garrett has been selected to serve of the Board of Directors for the Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance (GAVEA). This three year term will allow Tehachapi and Eastern Kern County to continue to have a voice in the economic issues and opportunities presented in the region.
Garrett and the City of Tehachapi have been instrumental in their involvement with GAVEA which includes the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale in L.A. County, as well as the East Kern communities of Tehachapi, Ridgecrest, Mojave and California City.
"It is an honor to be part of this organization and to be a part of what GAVEA brings to the region," Garret said.
This position on the Board of Directors will help GAVEA in their mission to retain, expand and attract wealth-creating business in the region, which has been dubbed "Southern California’s Leading Edge." With affordability of housing, the cost of doing business and plenty of room for testing and other business ventures, GAVEA works to pursue not only new partnerships but enhance those with the aerospace, mining, agriculture, medical and renewable energy industries.
